The Poles are at it again

Reports from the local anglers using the many dams:

Some polish guys are yet again hitting the dams late evening in a rubber dinghy, and netting all they can..last known attempt was the north dam and from a report they got 2 nets full.

this is yet again typical, and if they are caught they pull the usual (me no speak english, me no understand) it is simply not fair, locals are paying a fortune for their legal licence and permit yet these guys are getting away with it.

whats your opinion ??

Re: The Poles are at it again

Thats serious!!!!! Havnt heard anything myself, but if its true it has to be dealt with. Its bad enough them coming over here and getting our, houses, jobs and all sorts of benefits. Some of them are better off than a lot of us. That has to be the final straw. They know fine rightly what there up to,and know the dams are stocked, otherwise they wouldnt be there, they cant and shouldnt be let off with the old ''me no english'' excuse. Im not a fresh water anlger, but i am angler and im equally concerned about fish stocks fresh or sea. People spend there hard earned money to fish these dams and these so called ''immigrants over here for a better life'' should be fined heavily for there inconsiderate actions.

There activites should be publishized more in local press (if it hasnt all ready) and the dams possibly patrolled or monitored closely to stop this.

That or a nice big dart shot into the rubber dinghy while there out on the dam itself, that should stop them.lol

Anyway rant over.

Re: The Poles are at it again

yep i agree, as to press reports..nope as to more patrols...nope

No one seems to care apart from the actual anglers...as to the dart into the dinghy...yeah might work, though a dart in the ass would feel a lot more like revenge....oh and dont forget what happened last year at blackhead when they were told to more or less f**K off by the local anglers there as they were taking fish smaller than our hands..

it may sound like a biggoted discussion here, but i assure you its not. this is whats going on and its only gona get worse...

Re: The Poles are at it again

Have witnessed them taking very very small fish myself...its a disgrace, anyway told them were to go after that incident also!!!

As for the dams i agree with what your saying...people expect to go up there for a decent days sport, but if those robbing b@#tards keep it up the place will be empty!!

hmm dart..was thinking more a a RPG to the dingy??(forming a wreck in the north dam?) lol

rpg..good one, id like to see it...

Was up at lough mourne on sunday walking the dog, sen a few poles there, even when they look at you theres guilt in their faces, i think tha ma have thought i was something to do with the lough as i had my gone fishin jacket on. But unfortunatly the was the uk justice works is like this ..the would get away with murder wereas if you or I were to take an extra fish we would get the book thrown at us.

Re: The Poles are at it again

I have had numerous reports lately but thankfully things seem to be getting better, DCAL are asking for any details on a white van and a red van reportedly taking part in illegal activity during nighttime and the early hours, anyone knowing or seeing these vehicles are asked to note down any details but not to approach any occupants but instead to pass on the info via the dcal website
